Our team is made up of life scientists, and their work is volunteer.
Our goal at Facbio is to facilitate access to scientific knowledge for all, particularly in life sciences, on an Open Acces mode.
For this reason, our images and texts are under a Creative Commons license, replacing Copyright. This allows you to use the content of this website freely, except for commercial use. In exhange, we only ask that you name FacBio as the source.
This website has been online since June 2005, and the French version is still under construction. We are currently translating its content into English (October 2005) and the site is updated on a daily basis.

Marc Gilbert

Associate Professor
Marc is a professor at Paris VI University in Paris, France. He also works with the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Marc has taught life sciences for 30 years and is the author of all of FacBio - Cell Bio's texts and illustrations.

Post-doctoral researcher
Laurence is a post-doc at UCSF and co-webmaster of FacBio. She is the author of most animations on this website, and works on the design. She is also translating Marc's texts and figures from French to English.
