Post-doc INSERM pour expats

February 20th, 2006

Post-doctoral fellowship available now at INSERM (French NIH) unit 679 Salpetriere hospital – University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris France for 12 months and eventually for a longer period. The project is aimed at the development of a new animal model of Parkinson’s disease and will involve surgery, behavioral analysis, molecular biology and histology.

The Guest Researchers Office will give you your grant of 2800 € net every month for a year, pay back for your return ticket (up to 1000 € per person) on presentation of your ticket plus your invoice. We will provide you with a private medical insurance (including the equivalent of the reimbursement of social security and a “mutuelle”-complementary insurance scheme) and a civil liability insurance which we will reimburse for you and your partner.

This grant is not a social grant and therefore will need to be declared to the tax office. Please note that for American residents, the taxes will need to be paid in the US after having been declared in France. We will give you all the information upon request.

The Guest Researchers Office will also help you find an accommodation, open a bank account before your arrival in France and help you with administrative formalities before (see below) and during your stay.

Since funding is obtained through a French American partnership program, the applicants should be US or Canadian citizen or a French citizen who stayed in North America for more than 4 years.

Please send your application to Dr Etienne Hirsch, hirsch@ccr.jussieu.fr or fax +33 1 44 24 36 58.
